Kenneth R. Freeston
 
Ken Freeston has over 40 years of experience as an educator and author.

He is currently the Superintendent of Schools in North Salem, New York. Prior to coming to North Salem in 2007, he served Superintendent of Schools in Ridgefield and Redding, Connecticut.  He was twice named Educational Leader of the Year in Connecticut, first by the Connecticut Association of Curriculum and Supervision Development and subsequently by the Charles Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. He began his educational career in the West Hartford, CT Public Schools as a high school teacher of history and psychology.

An author of numerous articles on parenting, teaching and learning for the New York Times, Educational Week, Educational Leadership and the School and Administrator, he also co-authored a book about fatherhood called Welcome to Club Dad.

Dr. Freeston is a Bachelors and Masters Graduate from Colgate University, and holds a PH.D. from the University of Connecticut in Organizational Behavior.

He lives in Connecticut with his wife Cheryl.  He balances life’s challenges with avid interests in online sales of unusual antiques and collectibles.
